Not quite as popular as their clothes, Versace watches are still made with individual style as you would expect. Much like the rest of the brand, Versace watches are instantly recognizable due to their design and iconic use of Greek motifs alongside the Medusa head.
Versace watches are good quality and made to a reasonably high standard. As mentioned later, they are not the best value for money, but are unique and well put together.

History Of Versace
Versace is an Italian fashion brand that was founded in 1978 by Gianni Versace. Since the inception of the brand, the popularity of Versace clothes and accessories has skyrocketed. In 2018, Versace was acquired by Michael Kors holding company for the value of $2.1 billion.
The company is best known for its Medusa head logo, which is internationally recognized. Versace created this logo because he wanted people to fall in love with his clothes and designs in the same way that men would be drawn into the gaze of medusa. During his prolific career, Gianni Versace worked with and designed outfits for Elton John, Michael Jackson, and Princess Diana.
However, although the brand is both truly iconic and hugely successful. There is a very sad story behind the name Versace. In 1997 Gianni Versace was only 50 years old when he was shot in the head by a crazed gunman. After Gianni’s death, the company was run by his family, specifically his sister Donatella Versace who is still the head of creative design to this day.
Where Are Versace Watches Made?
Versace watches are all Swiss made. Some of their watches are mechanical, but most are all quartz models. Usually, they will use either Ronda or ETA movements.
Who Makes Versace Watches?
Versace watches are licensed to be manufactured by the Timex group. Although Timex is best known for being a standalone brand, like their rival Fossil, the group also makes timepieces for other brands.
Timex currently manufactures watches for Versace, Guess, Nautica and Ted Baker. Different brands will have different levels of quality control and use of materials. So whilst the listed brands may be below the status of Versace, it would be unfair to consider them as all being the same quality of the watch.
Are Versace Watches A Luxury Brand?
Versace is not a luxury watch brand. There is no doubt that their clothes are 100% luxury, as they are Italian made from the finest materials.
In fairness to Versace, their watches are Swiss made. But they cannot be compared to other Swiss brands such as Rolex, Audemars Piguet or Patek Philippe, which would all be considered luxury watch brands.
Most Versace watches use Swiss quartz or automatic ETA movements. These are certainly not bad movements by any measure. However, they are not luxury. Versace watches are reasonably expensive, but they are not priced at a luxury price point either.
Are Versace Watches Good Value For Money?
Typically not, although this can vary. Due to the brand not having any real particular standout models such as a Rolex Submariner or a Breitling Navitimer. The price of Versace watches are not too consistent. Although the watches are Swiss made, there is often better value for money elsewhere. Brands such as Vivienne Westwood and Bulova have very similar quality watches for much cheaper prices.
When shopping online, you can often find discounted models of various Versace watch models. As a result of this, the price discrepancy can be very large. You will often find the less popular models selling for around $250, whereas the more popular models will be selling in the region of $1000.
If you are shopping in an authorized dealer. You will likely be able to get a discount if you push enough. However, this discount is still unlikely to be more than a discount you can get by shopping on Amazon.
Do Versace Watches Hold Their Value?
No. Versace watches are not an investment and should not be bought to earn or store money. They are Swiss made fashion watches that will depreciate through natural wear & tear whilst you own them.
Versace is a classic fashion brand. Whilst some of their clothes may appreciate over time, the company is a newcomer to the industry when compared with very established watch brands. You should not expect to get a good return on your money if you are trying to sell a Versace watch you have owned for a year or two. To avoid disappointment when buying watches, you should only buy pieces that you genuinely like.
Do Versace Watches Use Real Gold?
This is dependant on model to model. Versace does not make watches out of 18k solid gold like brands Rolex or Audemars Piguet. The cost of materials alone for a solid gold watch is several thousands of dollars (well under the complete cost for a Versace watch).
Instead, the brand does plate its watches with gold, but the purity of this gold will depend on which model of watch you are buying.
The Best Versace Watches
Mens
Dylos Automatic
The Dylos automatic is a Swiss made mechanical watch with a workhorse ETA movement. Although automatic watches are less reliable and accurate than quartz watches, ETA is a solid brand that is built to last.
The case of the watch is an unusual octagonal shape with a circular bezel. The two-tone metal is a classic loud Versace look which is finished off by the subtle Greek patterning in between each bracelet link.
Sport Tech
The Versace sport tech is both oversized and understated. Typically Versace watches and clothes will be very loud. However, the sport tech is not, granted it has oversized pushers, but other than this it is quite a subtle watch.
On the main dial, you will see the classic head of medusa at the 12 o’clock position. Other than this there is a chronograph function, as well as both date and day of the week. If you’re looking for an up-market sports watch, this is a good option if you’re a fan of the brand.
Womens
Victoria Harbour
A rose gold dial is surrounded by diamante crystals. Also, each quarter on the dial is marked by a singular crystal each 15 minutes.
The bracelet also has an unusual design with a lions head fastening to band to the case of the watch.
V-Flare
Available in either baby blue or black, the V-Flare is a feminine 28mm dialed watch. Although the case of the watch is quite small, it is neither a quiet nor small timepiece. This is because the V-flare is a wrap watch, a style that does not get too much use in modern day.
The swiss made timepiece will wrap around your wrist 3 times and is more of a mixture of a watch and bracelet rather than just a normal watch.
Moscova
The Moscova by Versus Versace is a real statement piece. It has a typical two-tone color scheme as you would expect by a brand known for its loud and garish style. Unlike a lot of men’s watches, you will find that this watch has a lion’s head in the center of the dial, rather than medusa.
As this model was released under the Versus line, it is considerably less expensive than some of the other Versace models. In fact, when compared to similar or rival brands such as Michael Kors or Hugo Boss, it really doesn’t cost that much more considering the brand.
