There are stories all over the internet about Jomashop, some of which are very true and others that are 100% false. Jomashop is a business located in New York which was founded in 1987. Due to the business selling watches and other luxury goods online, like Amazon it does not have a physical location. This allows the company to sell its watches at lower prices than the competition – much like all other pure online sellers.

There is no real comparison, Amazon offers a huge variety of watches at similar prices, although Jomashop does offer more luxury models at lower prices. Other than this though, Amazon customer service is outstanding. Whilst no business can be said as having perfect support, Amazon is very close.

Jomashop lets itself down in the customer service department. If it were better at this, it would be very close to becoming the Amazon of luxury watches, however, it is some way off at the moment.

eBay

eBay can be very hit or miss. Depending on the seller you buy from, you could end up with a fake watch or something which is a lot worse than you thought it was. Thankfully this is easily rectifiable given the customer service of eBay – although you will waste your time sorting things out.

If you buy from an established business seller, these risks are seriously minimized. You will always pay near the market rate unless you win a low priced auction. Overall, eBay offers a lot more in terms of buyer satisfaction than Jomashop.

Chrono24

Chrono24 prices are a LOT higher than Jomashop. One thing about Chrono24 is that similar to eBay, you want to try and only buy from established businesses with a reputation. These sellers actually want to try and help you when things go wrong so their reputation is kept intact. An individual seller does not have this need and therefore won’t care as much.

Jomashop is better in terms of price, but Chrono24 is once again better in terms of customer service.

In fact, if you’re looking for a brand new luxury watch online, it is very difficult to find anyone who will sell you a legitimate watch for a cheaper price. There will be grey market dealers who have unworn pieces which the authorized dealers cannot sell, but these are not large businesses with a huge variety of online stock.

However, it is not all sunshine and rainbows. Jomashop customer service raises some serious concerns about buying from the brand when things go wrong.

There is no doubt that if you buy any watch from Jomashop you’re going to get an authentic watch and have it delivered to your address. 99% of the time, things will go smoothly and you will be satisfied. The issue with Jomashop is that when things go wrong for the customer, they are very slow to put things right and have a very weak warranty compared to the manufacturer.

In fairness, Jomashop works with very thin margins, and some of this cost is cut down by not offering very large guarantees and warranties. By having less of a customer focussed business, they are able to offer very significant price decreases.

Overall, if you want to cover all your bases. There are other platforms to buy watches from. Amazon is probably the best for any watches under a few thousand dollars. Over this amount, platforms such as eBay and Chrono24 become much more favorable to use, as well as watch dealers in-person.
