In the cult horror movie The Deliverance, actor Burt Reynolds wears a Suunto compass. A lot of people think this is a watch as it looks like one, but it’s literally just a compass that is worn around his wrist. This makes practical sense too, as it would be needed to navigate through the woods during the early 1970s.
In this film, Reynolds plays Lewis Medlock who is known as the groups’ leader and bravely takes on a dangerous gang of hillbillies. Interestingly, although this is a Suunto compass, Suunto also makes a variety of practical watches that also use the features of a compass.
