Astronaut Buzz Aldrin famously wore an Omega Speedmaster watch whilst he stepped foot on the moon. As a result, the watch instantly became iconic and is known as the Moonwatch. These days, most forms of the Moonwatch have a steel bracelet, whereas, Aldrin’s had a black strap instead.
Interestingly, after arriving back on earth Aldrin gave back his outfit, however his watch was missing. It is not known where this watch ended up – but you could guarantee it would be worth a lot of money if it even wound up at auction.
