In the classic Martin Scorsese movie The Goodfellas, the ‘Don’ Paulie wears a JLC Reverso watch. He is played by actor Paul Sorvino and was the leader of a prestigious mafia group in New York during the 1950s. As a result, it’s no surprise that he wore such a luxury watch.
The Reverso is known for its unique case that can reverse, showing a lid on top of the dial. Interestingly, although this film was set in the 50s, the Reverso was not released by Jaeger-LeCoultre until 1985. However, as this movie was released in 1990, it adds up. Even then, the Reverso does look like it’s out of the art deco era due to its unusual style.
